Hundreds Of Unreleased J. Dilla Tapes Discovered & Returned to His Mother

A Detroit record store owner has discovered a box of beat tapes and other assorted goodies left behind almost a decade ago by the late, J Dilla.  The discovery was handed over to Dilla's mother after the owner turned down numerous offers from around the world to purchase the mysterious collection.

"Fans around the world will now have the chance to hear new, previously unheard material by J.Dilla, thanks to a record store owner in Detroit, who discovered hundreds lost tapes and other material created by the producer.

Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey is now in possession of hundreds of tapes created and produced by her son J. Dilla, who died of February 10, 2006 from Lupus.
The treasure trove of J.Dilla material was found by Jeff Bubeck, who owns the Royal Oak-based record store UHF.

Bubeck was cleaning out an abandoned storage unit storage he took control of, when he found over 7,000-8,000 records, notebooks, notes and other handwritten artifacts by J.Dilla.

In an exclusive Q&A with AllHipHop.com, Ms. Yancey revealed that Bubeck declined offers from around the world to sell J.Dilla’s material and returned a box of original beat tapes, letters and other items.

“It was overwhelming to see this handwriting again and to see how he marked his records, with his silver marker,” Ms. Yancey told AllHipHop.com. “That was his favorite color, the silver marker.

According to Ms. Yancey, J. Dilla, born James Dewitt Yancey, left to record in California, but before he left, he wanted to sell over 20,000 albums from his collection.
Jonathan Taylor, who is the business manager for The J.Dilla Foundation, said that the producer’s collection simply became scattered after his [rip].

“He chose which ones [records] he wanted,” Taylor told AllHipHop.com. “He took the ones he wanted and those that were left, were from eight years ago.”

Ms. Yancey and Jonathan Taylor wanted to express their gratitude to Jeff Bubeck for returning the material and not thinking about a turning a profit off of the valuable material that he discovered.

“He is my hero. He truly is,” Ms. Yancey told AllHipHop.com of Bubeck. “It was really good to be with him and to see him and to see the type of person he was. He just broke down, because he’s a remarkable father and understood.”

David Banner Wants You To Pay Him To Make An Album, Then Go Buy It When It Comes Out

Rapping and arrogance go hand in hand but rapper David Banner has raised the level to 2.0 with his new ploy to get the public to donate cash for his album to be recorded and released.  To convince his fans that they should feel good about coughing up free cash to give to him, he is, "... going to show you how dope this album is by every two weeks dropping a new single. By the time the fans get to May 22, they're [going to be] like, 'Damn, this is worth at least a dollar, but we may give him $100 on the effort!'" Really?

Is it that bad for you out there, David Banner fans? Are you starving so bad for him to release a new album that you are willing to fund the recording (which will be funded & released by the label in addition to your donations), purchase leak singles along the way and buy the full LP retail version when it drops? I wonder if you can report & claim those donations on your 2012 tax return? FOH...

Turntable Transportation: The World's First Bicycle Built For DJs

COGOO, a Japanese bike-sharing service has invented the most face-melting way to ride on a pair of wheels. It took a BMX bike and turned it into a DJ toolkit, so jumps and tricks become fresh beats.

Different pieces of the rider become emcee essentials: The wheels become jog wheels; brakes do double duty as sound pads; and a gyroscopic motion sensor perched on the bars feeds the fader pad. Various sounds are transmitted to the bike through an iPhone or iPod, to produce the sweetest set up ever to hit the ramps and roads.

One time out of pure hate (and boredom) I walked into a McDonalds with no expression and ordered a Whopper with no ketchup and extra pickles. The chick behind the counter actually drew her index finger across the register keys for about 2.13 seconds before she realized how fitting of a job she had in comparison to her intelligence level.

I'm a crusader for Burger King. Ok not exactly the whole Burger King, just The Whopper and The King mascot. Living in the Bronx doesn't make that easy because every location employs a full staff of 'Not-A-Single-Fuck-Given' personalities who only get my simple custom order right half the time. But with the discovery of a new product on the rise I can learn to overlook that problem with ease and stroll back into my local BK ASAP!  A Nashville, Tennessee Burger King has unveiled the BACON SUNDAE: Ice cream and toppings with a fat juicy strip of pork BACON rammed inside like one of those long red spoons you get in a normal sundae. I wonder if Nashville feels good or bad about being chosen as the test market for an item obviously aimed at a bunch of fat greedy bastards.  They need to bring this to the streets of New York,  the factory of greed.  If any of my Nashville readers have tried this yet I'd love to know what you think about it in the comments!

Huge Information Leaked About Upcoming GTA V: Fact Or Fiction?

I don't know if this is worth believing 100% but from what I read it looks pretty legit. Former RockStar intern Ed Elric has come forward with a humongous amount of leaked information about the upcoming Fifth installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. All that fans have been teased with so far is a short minute and a half game trailer that slightly revealed the setting to be back in Los Santos. Anyway, its a nice long and interesting read if you're a fan of the series. Below is said intern's entire account of what we can expect in GTA V.

Instagram Finally Releases Android Version

Instagram Android Release: New App Now Available At Google Play Stor

 It's finally here!

Instagram for Android, a new version of the popular photo-sharing app, is now available for download at the Google Play store.

"We’ve put an incredible amount of effort into this app to make a first-class experience for Android users everywhere," Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said in an emailed statement.

Lauched in 2010, Instagram's iPhone app has been a smashing success. Systrom said early in March that over 27 million iPhone users had downloaded the app. Now, the company claims to have over 30 million registered users. Over 400,000 have signed up for the Android app since Instagram opened pre-registration on March 25.

A Texas private investigator claims he knows who really killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman in 1994. And it wasn’t OJ Simpson.

In a new book, ‘OJ is Innocent and I Can Prove It,’ William C. Dear alleges Simpson went on trial, and was acquitted of murder, in an effort to deflect attention from the true killer: His son Jason.

Dear says Simpson was at the crime scene — but not until after his ex-wife and her friend had been stabbed to death.

After a six-year investigation, Dear says he has found circumstantial evidence that links Jason Simpson, 41, to the murders.

The private eye claims he dug through Jason Simpson’s garbage and his abandoned storage locker in search of new evidence, the New York Post reported.

This is dope... and one thing that makes it so dope is the fact that we won't have to worry about seeing anyone do this with any Lil Wayne or Waka Flaka vinyl covers because there really aren't any as far as I know.

THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE ‘ELECTRIC LADYLAND’ UK VINYL LANDS $2,000

The Jimi Hendrix Experience ‘Electric Ladyland’ UK vinyl sold for 1,250 British pounds (nearly $2000) last week during an eBay auction. This original stereo first pressing is very scarce and the record is actually advertised as a “genuine investment opportunity.” The one person who placed the bid and won seemingly agreed.

Listed with all the details that tell the tale of this 1968 1st pressing, the seller shows photos of the record labels with inverted matrix numbers and re-assures interested parties that the cover is in excellent plus condition and has the laminated album cover and the original Polydor inner sleeves. The seller claims to have played it only four to five times, and that its original owner bought it on the day of its release.

The cover is the 1st pressing fold-out by Ernest. J. Day and features the large photos and blue text inside the cover. When a seller indicates that it “still crackles on opening,” it’s like a used car salesman saying “it still has that new car smell” and for some, those are the words that can seal the deal.

It’s worth mentioning that this album cover is still creating controversy 44 years after its release. The seller begins the listing by apologizing to those who previously placed bids. Apparently, the first time he listed the album, eBay took it down 45 minutes before the auction was to end due to the female nudity depicted on the front gatefold cover. The record was re-listed without the image of the front cover.
